CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is lead by the pastor and designed to help the baptized child to draw closer in faith to his Lord, to more deeply understand the essentials of the Christian faith, and to participate to a greater extent in the life of the Christian church.

Bible Study Group

At Resurrection Lutheran Church, confirmation is a two year process usually beginning in 5th grade (or sometimes 6th or 7th grade) in which the baptized child grows in understanding God and the faith. The child is trained to serve in the worship service as an acolyte or crucifer. Toward the conclusion, the child is prepared to receive Holy Communion, which is received for the first time on Confirmation Sunday (the last Sunday in October, approximately two years after confirmation classes started).

Year 1 and 2 Confirmation classes meet on Wednesdays, 5-6 pm, following the Cairo-Durham School calendar. Year 3 meets on Tuesdays, 5-6 pm in September and October concluding on Confirmation Sunday.
